We are finalizing our plans for Craigendarroch in June 2020. Can anyone share information about interesting daytrips, sightseeing and activities in the area? Are there tours or reservations that should be booked in advance or can we just wing it based on the weather when we are there? We do intend to get in a few games of golf at Ballater but any suggestions for golf would be appreciated as well. We will have a car and would like to tour the area on our own as opposed to traveling in a tour group. Is there a Concierge who can help us with activities at the resort? We will also be spending a few days in Edinburgh.

Thanks for the info. I have done a search but have not found too much on TUG yet considering how dense the various castles, distilleries and towns are. It seems most people do car or van road trip style of travelling tours of Scotland, whereas we will likely stay in Craigendarroch for up to two weeks and then move on to Edinburgh for 3 days, and just trying to figure out if there is enough to keep us busy with just day trips.
