Any Phuket owners here?

I am in the process of buying two Phase I Platinum weeks. The final package has just been sent to Marriott to record the ownership change in the Marriott system, but I think it may take a few weeks until it's in my account.

It came with unused and unreserved 2019 usage, two weeks, for free. I am dealing with a broker and sellers are not going to help reserving anything. I understand that at this point I may not be able to reserve anything high demand in 2019, or maybe not anything at all. I am OK with depositing into II, but only if it's an unrestricted deposit 60+ days out. I don't want to pay for a new II account and exchange fees for a restricted deposit.

Is there a way to see availability now? What will happen if nothing is available by the time it transfers into my account in a few weeks, will Marriott give me replacement weeks?

Any recommendation what to do at this point to prevent two 2019 weeks going to waste?

Firstly, good luck for a smooth and quick completion on your purchase.
Phuket Phase 1 Platinum weeks are great to own.
It will soon be heading towards high season in Phuket.
Typically demand and island prices are higher from 1st November onwards.
As our weeks are already booked and we will be at the resort from end October onwards, I can’t check availability but you are right that availability now in 2019 would be very unlikely.
When we have bought Resale weeks, our broker has been helpful in arranging with the seller to book. week(s) prior to completion, so it would certainly be worth asking if they are willing to help with this.
Failing that, I would try to work with them / MVC Owner Services to make a Deposit with Interval for unrestricted usage.
