Marriott timeshares and Marriott Bonvoy--how does it work?

Hello! I have status with Marriott Bonvoy, but I'm wondering how it works if you also own a Marriott timeshare. Do you get a certain number of points per year for owning? Do the two accounts get combined?

Thanks for any info!

The accounts are not combined, but dependent on how many MVC points you own (or have available for election through weeks enrolled) you will receive Marriott Bonvoy Elite status.
