Need advice on upgrade

I have a deeded week at Broadway plantation. Prime at 67100 points. We typically trade to Jenson beach off season. I have never had an issue getting what I want. I am interested in getting flex for Marriott usage. I was offered to options

1. 12k to go to 81000 flex including all fees

2. 16k to go to 97500

I don't think I will really need the 97500 points but am concerned about the not having options. I was thinking of trying to sell my unit and buy 8100 in flex off eBay any advice

You need to wait as no amount of flex options from Vistana will get you Marriott Vacation Club access at this time.

You can buy in to SVV for around 1000$ with 81000 SO. Mandatory resort. Why would one modify a previous membership rather than buy a new resale contract?

As others have pointed out - Flex does not give you Marriott access. If you want Marriott access the best way at this time is to either buy Marriott or trade in II.

Trading in a unit that has SO's for a few marginal more HO's is not worth $12k. If you are wanting more options to book Jenson then the Flex package on eBay would work for you - just be aware that you don't get StarOptions with it so you'd be limited to those Sheraton Flex resorts, the MF's will be much higher and it's uncertain as to how it would trade in II if you are wanting a Marriott.

Don't do it - you have been misled by the sales people.

Sign up for a full TUG membership to have access to the Sightings section where members post the best deals in II and RCI. IMO the $15 a year is the best investment you can make related to a timeshare

Yes....and more.

Learn when Marriott properties might be available for exchange. Learn about 'Marriott Preference' and watch for units which are reported to be 'not in preference.' If you can see them....you know what you have a chance at (trading power). Consider joining TUG to gain access to sightings. These are the true 'diamonds in the rough' that come and go....posted by lots of Tuggers.... Consider exchanges inside of 59 days....when the trading power seems to be better and maybe not under preference. Place exchange requests as early as possible. Consider a smaller unit (studio or 1br?) to improve your odds. Exchange with Eplus to re-trade into last minute elite resorts....
