We are staying 1 night in a Marriott time share on our way home from Orlando. They called and offer us 4 day/3 nights for $300ish IF we attend a sales presentation. (It might have been closer to $400, they left a message for my husband.). Is it worth it, if we are tied to the schools’ schedules? We can pick up cheap getaways via II for Orlando, so while that might be a good rate, I’m not interested in committing my time for a sales presentation for an Orlando stay. I would like to attend the presentation because I’m currently looking at resales in this area/resort, but we are only there for the night, so the timing isn’t great. In general are these poor deals for those tied to school schedule?

You already answered the question by saying that you are not interested in committing the time for a sales presentation. Go with your intuition. It's never worth whatever they are giving to me. If I want to buy something I'll call and I promise someone will sell me something without trying to coerce me.

I would also pass since you are only there one night. Enjoy your time there.

Best regards.

Mike and Big Matt, thank you both for the advice...even though I didn't follow it. (I'm like a teenager asking a question, so I can do the opposite. :)) Seriously though, once we got there I learned that we could book Hilton Head and more importantly we didn't need to attend the presentation now. We will attend the 90-minute presentation when we return. So, for the $299, we booked a 3-night, 4-day stay at Barony for the last week in May. This dovetails nicely with an existing reservation we have at the Marriott in Myrtle Beach for the 1st week in June. We have a 6-7 hr drive with 3 kids, so being able to dovetail the trips is a big bonus for us. We get 2 destinations with only 1 roundtrip drive. Also, just in case anyone else is considering a deal like this and needs to work around school schedules, had we reserved a week in June or July, the price would have increased another $200.

Nice work, sound like that really worked for you. Doesn't always but that sounds like it's worth 90 minutes of looking annoyed.:)
