Does anybody have info as to the Original Developer Cost of Aruba Surf Club Gold Oceanside Unit pre-construction and after construction?.

That’s the price I purchased for. Friends bought Gold Garden View for 11,300.

EDIT: we purchased first week pre construction. we were scheduled to go for a 5 night preview 9/14/2001

Needless to say we did not go.
Instead went Sept 2002 during the time they opened up sales. Between us and friends we purchased 15 weeks!

Platinum plus (holiday weeks) for $17,300? Seems like a bargain. Now they are asking for $55k-$80k for platinum plus weeks depending on which holiday and view for 2BR

I purchased ocean club platinum 2BR for $46.6k earlier this year before the next price increase. My recollection was the 2BR platinum Oceanside was about the same price.

In 2007, which was still considered pre-construction. Gold Gardenview at Surf Club was about $25,000, direct from Marriott. So I'd assume Oceanside would be $5-10K more.

I couldn't find my SC info but I did find my AOC info May 08. A 2 BR Platinum was $29,300 OF & $20,700 OV. Gold was $18,100 & $14,900. All pre-construciton.

Now a 2BR platinum at Ocean Club is $46,600. I could have sworn I paid cheaper but I just checked my actual docs and it was indeed that price. Apparently it has gone up $1000 or so more in May of this year.

yes platinum Aruba Surf Club and it was actually $20,900 as I check my records. I also got 440k MR points which in 2002 was a really good value.

Understood. In January 2007, the full complex wasn't complete yet. They still called it pre-construction pricing to us.

They were suppose to offer it then but it was delayed until September 2002 (secondary to 9/11 attacks I believe) I purchase first week pre-construction.

The problem is Marriott called it “pre-construction” pricing for many years to make people think it was a deal. This latest post says pre-construction dated 2006 even thought they had been selling the units since 2002!

I think we can honestly say it was just another sales gimmick.

We stayed at the Surf Club in the Lighthouse (oceanfront/ocean side) Building in March 2004. They originally told us first occupancy was 2008

And Marriott actively ROFR’d anything less than 1/3’d off back in ‘06; boy have times changed! MFs have more than doubled. Yet Seaport and others are still paying in the mid forties.

What’s interesting to me is that the price Marriott sells them now on the second go ‘round is not much more than what they sold then. I bought a week from them last year for about $2000 more than they did back then.
