I'll be checking into a Courtyard Marriott in a couple of days (Iberville in New Orleans, about 2 blocks from the Hard Rock Hotel collapse :(). I was using my app to check-in ahead of time and noticed the option for "Make A Green Choice". It says "Earn points for each day you skip housekeeping, up to 3 consecutive days, starting on the day after you arrive. You can check the status under My Requests".

I understand the green choice option, but what I don't understand is, if I'm there or 5 nights (5-night certificate), will I only get 750 points for the 3 consecutive nights? And if so, will I get housekeeping after the 4th night? I'm trying to decide if I am willing to skip housekeeping for the length of our stay. I wouldn't mind skipping 2 nights, getting it after the 3rd night, then skipping it again. Also, what does the last sentence mean?

Help me to understand.

Just because you skip housekeeping doesn't mean you can't request new towels, etc.

BTW, that property is awesome. You are in a great location, and it's connected to the Ritz. If you have a chance, go early and get a seat at the Jeremy Davenport Lounge at the Ritz to see Jeremy and his band. No cover charge. Great show.

Check-in is day 1. If you opt-in you would not have HK for days 2, 3 or 4. They would come in and do a refresh on day 5 (after your fourth night) and then you check out on day 6. Amount is per night.

I usually opt-in it unless it is at a higher end property where they will refresh the fruit basket, stemware etc - it feels like I would be insulting them by refusing service. Unfortunately this has really been devalued since Marriott took over Starwood. With Starwood we would get 500 Starpoints (equal to around 1500 Bonvoy).

Yup, but I have found you have to remind the front desk when you check-in to make sure it is notated on your reservation as well. I've had several past stays where I elected the make a green choice option on my phone and ended up getting no points for my trouble. When I followed up with the desk, I get told 'they have no record of me electing that, sorry.'
