I own a timeshare that is only 1, not part of a large company with many locations. I want to deed it back and be rid of ownership, correctly and legally so they cannot come after me. I believe there is a place to go to read about prior discussions on this subject.
Can someone instruct me how to find that location?
thank you

You can only correctly and legally deed back your timeshare if your resort decides to accept it. You can't force it on them. Have you asked your resort about a deed back? What do you own?

Edited: It looks like from prior postings you own Wyndham. Wyndham has a deed back program called Ovations. Call Wyndham and see if you qualify.

Here is one thread with Ovations mentioned.

Three times I was able to Deed Back Weeks at HOA Controlled Independent Resorts. It was never easy and took multiple phone calls sometimes to the same individual and sometimes after talking to multiple individuals. One word stands out in my mind as I write this. It is persistence!! Find the decision maker at the Resort and try to build a relationship with him/her. But keep plodding forward. One of mine took two, maybe three years to accomplish...

This won't help your situation now, but may help future buyers...I bought a t/s in 2001 in the Poconos for $4000..It was not a deeded property. It was RTU (right to use)..And EOY (every odd year). For 20 years. We've never seen the inside of the 1bdrm..Bought it for exchanges..Now we have no more maintenance fees as of this year..YIPPEE...I can still get Getaways from II if I pay them... A lot has happened since 2001.... (Internet). Now, I choose to rent from owners. There are many many owners that don't want to pay MF's..I pay the fees for them; along with a profit for them...Everyone is happy..
The problem with deeds: U pay for life and they always rise.
