Just realized I missed my Sept 31st deadline to switch my 2020 enrolled week to vacation club points. ( a lot going on this year and it just slipped my mind). Am I out of luck or are there other work arounds? I was considering renting through Marriott instead since I saw that was an option still available to me. Anyone try this option? Our week is a Platinum week at Ocean Pointe.

Is Sept 30th definitely your deadline? Some Owner levels are Oct 31st.
MVC may rent out for you, with a hefty commission, but they are selective which weeks they will take.
Alternatively you can rent out here through TUG on the relevant pages, or Redweek or other preferred
Rental Brokers.

Deadline depends on your status. If you’re presidential or Chairman you have a few more days to decide.

Last time I tried to rent a week to MVC they offered like 90% of my MF’s. That was back in like 2013. I haven’t tried it since then.

One less desirable option may be to convert to Bonvoy Points (the old Marriott Reward Points). Keep in mind that this isn't the best option, however they don't expire and can provide an easy, alternative.

I believe December 31st is your deadline to do this.

Having Marriott rent out your unit is usually a bad deal. When I've read posts about what people have been offered, they are usually a lot lower than what Steven was offered, sometimes as bad as only 50% of MFs (and his data point is a little old plus he does have primo weeks). You'll do a lot better by renting out here on the TUG Marketplace (or even working out a trade - I did that one year a few years ago before I finally enrolled my weeks in the DC) or by listing on Redweek.

And of course depositing into Interval is an option.

You can always contact Marriott to find out what they are offering for your week without committing yourself. Unless they changed it they don't want an actual week and if you have one reserved and go through with the rental they will have you cancel the reservation so they can cherry pick whatever they want to rent.
