Kind of embarrassing to admit this, but I believe we still have all of our original notes, including a breakdown by 1/2 hour segments of when the little goblins arrived! What could you do with that data? :D

Kurt
Kurt - I now live in a townhouse development so halloween is a MEH thing for me now. But in my previous single family home, we had a huge halloween neighborhood. I, also, gave our full sized candy bars as it was so wonderful & joyful to see the reactions (I would give small fun sized to toddlers -- full disclosure). I would keep a tally from year to year on the number of trick or treaters we had b/c I never wanted to run short and I didn't want a ton of surplus either. There are a lot of variables in the prediction to account for including weather, the day of the week that halloween lands on, and the "generational effect" in the neighborhood at any given time.

Halloween is just awesome.

I couldn't put a comment for the picture above. It was actually very cold in the Denver area for trick or treating. Fortunately, there are so many activities for Halloween, it didn't matter. Between Raelynn's preschool and the city's trunk or treat, and Malloween at two malls, she had lots of fun. Four-month-old Callan, our newest grandchild, he just liked being with his sister for all of it.

We had less then half the usual of past years, figure there are newer neighborhoods they have moved to. Estimate this year is around 60 kids. It was on the cold side, but no snow.

I buy the candy we like to eat so leftovers not a problem.

Since we never needed the leftovers dh and I would take them to work. They seemed to disappear quickly there.

I just heard about a mom with a 3-day old. She had a cesarean and still took the baby out! Her friend was shocked but said the gal took it easy when she got tired.

Patti and I split the duties. I entertain the 3 pets inside. She sits on covered from porch (101 year old Craftsman). Many of the kids are so focused on door they totally do not see her sitting about 3 feet to the side of the door. We are between 2 churches on the Street behind us. So lots of kids from the 2 church events. Also a lot of parents bring their kids to our neighborhood.

Normally we get a good sized group from Tokoyo International located at Willamette University. They are guided/escorted by Willamette University Students. They did not make it this year.

Patti hands and back were acting up so she only got one pumpkin carved and she was not please with the end product.
