We are planning to see "Knives Out" on Sunday. Don't know much about it, but from the previews and the cast it looks good.

Oh well, to each to his own!

I did spend a chunk of childhood time in the 70’s getting taken to Formula 1 race tracks (Ontario, Riverside, etc) because the company my dad worked for was a sponsor. It probably added another level of movie enjoyment for me.
I can absolutely see why you'd like it! My friend loved it -- he's a big car guy.

Great movie. But I grew up racing cars on the drag strip and going to watch Seabring and all the races at Daytona as well as the Gator Nationals in Gainesville. Most of my friends had a Mustang, or some other high performance car like the Olds 442. I had a Chevy making 350 HP that was a 13 second street car. Those were the good old days.

Good period piece. One can get persnickety about details...
1. Ford never went for that ride with Shelby. Note: No helmets.
2. Shelby & Miles never had a physical altercation on the grass.
3. Ford engineers were more involved in designing the "GT."

But it gets a lot of racing and Ford history right (more or less).
Damon & Bale held it together, but it wasn''t a stretch for either.
So I give it a thumbs up... worth the price of a matinee ticket.

I liked it, my husband loved it.

I found out that his late uncle had an original Shelby Cobra (1960's). When he died his son acquired it. It burned up in one of the Southern Ca fires (and was not insured - long, sad, unpleasant story).

I think the guy with the toughest job was Leo Beebe. He had to deal with huge egos all the way around. Talk about walking a tightrope.

So today at the store I bought a box of Carroll Shelby's chili mix. Brings back childhood memories (there was always a packet on the shelf).
