We liked the convenience of 'immediate' check in/out between Barony and SurfWatch

We stayed at Barony a few weeks ago, then followed that week with a week at SurfWatch.

Upon check-in at Barony, we were offered the option of checking out "....between noon and 2pm... and immediately being able to check-in at Surfwatch..."

He mentioned that their computer systems are set up to make this move a possibility (other areas such as multiple Marriotts in Orlando, etc are NOT capable of doing so.)

We aren't sure even how many Marriott resorts on Hilton Head allow this---but we enjoyed the convenience between Barony and Surfwatch!!!

Are there Marriott OWNERs (we are not) who did NOT know of this??

It’s a MVC HHI thing, and a very nice perk for sure. Kudos to all of the HHI MVC resorts for coordinating this benefit to enhance guest enjoyment.

We have stayed 4 or 5 weeks in a row in Marriotts (Grande Ocean, Barony and SurfWatch) in January and February in past years and they would let us stay in our unit and give us a call when the unit at the resort we were checking into was ready. It is a very nice perk!

I was told by one of the FD managers at Monarch a few years ago this was a direction from Marriott though I'm told most resorts don't allow this. I believe all HHI Marriott's do and I know Aruba Surf Club does, not sure about Ocean Club.

We did this last year between Sunset Point and Harbour Club. Very nice perk indeed!

You can be visiting another property and place charges to your current room. At least, we did so a few years ago when we visited the pool bar at GO while staying at Sunset Point.

Yes, the family did the same at Barony for the Spa staying at GO.

The Marriott resorts at Hilton Head communicate extremely well with each other whenever
they become aware of a resort change within their system,
and they truly bend over backwards to facilitate an easy transition. Whenever it is going to occur,
it becomes a high priority for both front desks (leaving and arriving)
and they kick into gear.......They let the guest know exactly what is going on and when. The cleaning service
then bumps up the check-in resort so that the time "waiting" for a unit
is minimal and it's ready sooner, if not instantly. The extended check-out time allowed leaving the first resort helps too.
We have had several instances of transfers over the years,
and most often it's taken as little time as simply walking out of one, then driving, parking, and unloading at the other
for check-in.
