Ms. Zoppi's criminal indictment is long overdue, but her day of reckoning is finally about to arrive (although nearly $2 million is still gone forever).
What amazes me most about this Harbor Hill debacle is how "asleep at the wheel" the HOA was. As a Board member, how is it possible to be completely unaware that property taxes were not being paid, Federal taxes were not being paid --- and well over a million dollars was just missing and unaccounted for?
That is simply beyond my ability to comprehend.
This Harbor Hill debacle presents a solid argument for resorts using professional timeshare management companies, instead of just hiring a single (and in this case larcenous) individual, then allowing her to "operate" (i.e., steal) at will, without any oversight at all. A disgrace, by any possible standard or measure.
