I currently have both RCI points and Wyndam RCI points. Last year I stayed at a HGV Resort using my RCI points. Can I book the same resort this year using my Wyndham/RCI points or will I have a problem with the 1 in 4 Rule? They are completely different accounts but are both in my name.

IMO you should have no problem as you are staying on different RCI accounts.

Had you been staying or tried to use the same RCI account you would have gotten the message that you couldn’t book the resort as you had been staying there within the last 3,4 or 5 years.

Generally this is fine. As Cyberc has pointed out, there is no cross-check in the RCI system that prevents you from booking using two different RCI accounts. However, technically the RCI terms do not distinguish between accounts and the resort could refuse your stay if they discover you've stayed there within the last 4 years. This is very rare, but it has been reported certain resorts systems such as Tradewinds actually police this and have cancelled stays for violation of these rules despite booking from separate RCI accounts.
