AA Miles Now Given for Presentations?

There is a post over on FlyerTalk where the poster states he received 10,000 AA miles for attending a timeshare presentation at The Westin Resort & Spa - Cancun. Has anyone else encountered the ability to receive AA miles?

I haven't heard that, but it might tempt me to go to an owner update. (Well, no, not really.) That's equivalent to 30,000 Marriott Reward Points when you convert them over to AA miles at 3:1. I agree. I'm one of the TUGGERs who received 15,000 for a presentation at Nanea and 12,000 at Westin Riverfront and all within five months.

To me it also says that Vistana is aware of the perceived (by some people) devaluation of Marriott points.
