TUG is who's guiding me through this process . I'm wondering if the actual hotel / Marriott will send me anything as a new owner. If not, i guess i'll be calling owner services a lot. Since my first week is booked and maintenance fees for 2019 are paid through escrow, hopefully most of the tricky stuff is taken care of for a while.

My inlaws already said they're coming with us in October. Perhaps I should have gotten a 1bedroom :D

Why? You'd be sleeping on the sofabed.

Whoa! Your in-laws are still alive? You're way too young to own a timeshare. :)

I can say definitively that we would not be owners if it wasn't for all the great people on the TUG forums. I would have never paid full price, and I would never have had the confidence to buy on the resale market without the information and support found here.

As for Marriott, we were sent a welcome letter and membership certificate after we closed. At some point soon after that, our unit was associated with us in the online system, and we've been able to manage everything through the owner's portal since then. Pretty simple. I had a bunch of questions, so I did spent some time on the phone with a rep. She was pretty awesome and answered all of my questions, even giving me a few tips about how to best manage the timeshare.

As for the in-laws, you can ask for the 1BR and the lockoff to be keyed differently ;)
