It's a given around here that any unsolicited offer to buy your timeshare is from a scammer of some sort. They prey on the tired masses who just want out of their t/s obligation. You pay them a fee up front, they claim they'll buy or list for sale or whatever to your timeshare, and then they disappear into thin air - with your money. Next time your maintenance fees come due, your name is still on the deed, and you're on the hook for the fee. The only thing missing besides the scammer is the money you paid, usually with no recourse to get it back.

If you want out of your timeshare, stick around Tug, and read the forums that describe how best to pass it on to a new owner. Don't ever, ever pay someone up front to take it off your hands, because that's a sure-fire way to get ripped off. Most timeshares have zero resale value, so you're not likely to make any money selling it, but at the end of the day, if it's out of your name, you just saved plenty.

Just received a call from ASTG noted above, but before calling them back, found this:

See link below:

Anyone else recently been in contact with them and be willing to share their experiences!

For now, have block them!

Merry Christmas!

Well I can’t speak for the offer but I did buy a week off them on Ebay. Rodgers and Lee is there title company. While I’ve heard negative comments on both, so far the transfer has been smooth and fast. I’ll know for sure because they said the resort should be completing the transfer in 10-14 days.

If that actually happens (no reason to think it won’t) it will be my best EBay experience, if it doesn’t I’ll report back here.
