Got a call on home phone from rep wanting us to attend meeting for update us on timeshare options due to changes in industry. I know my spouse & I have said not interested/hung up on people like this many times. When I asked who they were representing, claimed to be RCI. In a moment of weakness, hoping this would stop the phone calls, I agreed to attend. Hubby uses this phone # for work and the number of junk calls he gets is ridiculous.

When I got there (just me), JB escorted me to room and it turns out its a one on one meeting and there's food. Although supposedly they're not selling anything. Ok I can handle it.I ask where they got phone number and JB isn't sure, possibly from ts resort. I should have left but I was curious. Company is Allied Solutions Group and they don't represent my time share developer nor exchange companies. Allied sells an "Advantage" program, for $22k for what sounded to me like a vacation points program(I'm a weeks owner).

He asked for name address, what timeshares owned I told him, he asked some questions about how we used our properties, then he completed "registration". I signed a paper that acknowledged that Allied doesn't represent developer or exchange companies.
Turns out they're selling timeshare exit strategies. Having educated myself on Tug, I knew about all the concerns with the product: exchange availability, maintenance fees, difficulty selling, etc.
JB said due to timeshare owners complaints, the industry was required to make some changes, we should have attended a meeting with third party company such as Allied, where a "property owners disclosure" was reviewed with us, offering some additional ts use options/relief in "open enrollment" time period 2012-2016 and it was declined. I assured him we had not attended such a meeting nor received such a disclosure. He said that doesn't happen very often and went to check with coworker.

While coworker checked database, JB reviewed ts conversion options that I should have heard about during that meeting: 1. membership in Advantage program with option to exit ts ownership - my ts would go into advantage program inventory, Allied would take care of selling if wanted to go that route. Got a sheet with my maintenance fees on it & how they add up over 30 years. There was second option, but I'm too tired to remember right now.
I wouldn't want to do option 2 without speaking with hubby.
Coworker came back and said database said disclosure had been reviewed, was I sure I didn't go to a meeting?. Yes.- Ok he will check if there was a signature in the records.
Says its difficult to sell ts because developer doesn't want units selling for $1, they have right of first refusal. Huh?
JB says there might be another option but he has to wait & see about the signature.
A piece of paper appears - option 1 should have been available for $8k during 2012-2016.
If disclosure was signed, it would be full price $22k. There's also some kind of total of $30k on the paper which I didn't get to ask about because Coworker/closer comes back and says disclosure is DNR (LOL. I think he meant NR, no response). There was no signature. So there's a loophole. If I write a note that I don't recall reviewing property owners disclosure, they will take it to their supervisor. If she approves, I can get the $8k price on option 1.

I tell JB and the closer that I am not interested. I sign paper saying I decline to purchase product. Which I ask for a copy of, but did not get.
JB and I shake hands cordially , he says "hopefully you will stop getting phone calls, and you can tell TUG about what happened".

I go home & tell hubby that it was sales pitch for different timeshare product. He says "of course it was", he says they (or someone like them) call many times a week. He's mad because he's afraid there will be even more phone calls now disturbing his work. I hope he's wrong.
I gave them my name, address, cell phone, date of birth. If they call my cell phone so be it. No hubby information given out. Should I be worried?

You can search "Allied Solutions Group" and you will find a number of posts on Yelp that mirror yours. Just an attempt to extract some money from timeshare owners whom they assume don't like their timeshares. Hubby is exactly right. FWIW, I have been on the DNC list at home for 15 years. I just registered my cell phone number for the DNC list. That won't stop the Windows PC scammer calls, but you can tell any respectable telemarketer that you are on the list, and they will stop calling. In NYS we have a multitude of electricity resellers that call on occasion. One mention of the DNC - they apologize and hang up. I would imagine you will never hear from Allied Solutions again. They are on to fresh prospects.

no legitimate outfit makes cold calls to owners in this industry.
