May sound silly, but I realize I will not be able to take my great ice packs with me in the Fall when we fly to Edinburgh

After each day of touring/walking/exploring it would be wonderful to be able to ice my back. Should I look for ice packs in Edinburgh or just see if bags of ice will do

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

We always take extra ziplock bags.... usually the highest quality ones like the one gallon freezer type...
The plastic is thicker, the ziplock is sturdier and they make a great emergency ice pack.
Just fill with ice, squeeze out as much air as you can and wrap a handtowel around it... if the handtowel starts getting wet... double bag it.

As a bonus.... if you have a place with a microwave, and need heat.... buy a cheap pair of sweat socks, a cheap bag/box of rice, fill the socks with rice, knot the end and microwave it for about 90-120 seconds... great heating pad. This can be reheated many many times...

Have a great trip!
