I did enjoy listening to Art. In the past, we would often be in the middle of no where and Art Bell's Coast to Coast would be the only thing the radio could receive. We would listen to all kinds of topics. My favorites were the bigfoot topics while anchored on a lake in the Cascade Mountains which is suposedly Bigfoot country.

Art passed away on Friday the 13th, go figure.

certainly one of the nuttiest of the internet conspiracy theorists from Bigfoot to 911 and space aliens.
I suppose it was entertainment

Well Bill, you can put away the tin foil beanie now at least until someone takes over the spot.

Yes! The irony! But, Coast to Coast lives on! Thank you, George Noory! I can't say I'm ever particularly interested in any certain topic, but it's godsend for insomniacs everywhere :)

I think Mr. Bell might have young children and a young wife. So, that part is sad. Hey, even 72 isn't very old, but at least he enjoyed a few years of retirement.

Art's voice was very soothing. I haven't listened to Coast to Coast AM since the late 90's. One of the topics is this bottomless hole called Mel's Hole. This hole is maybe 20 miles away from where I live. I have been all around this hole and a nearby water fall so the show about this hole was interesting to me.

Most of the time that I was listening to Coast to Coast was reception that was scratchy static fading in and out AM signal. Usually one of my kids and their friend would be on my boat on the lake. UFO's and Bigfoot were always fun topics. I would say something like "did you hear that or did you see that ?". I explained that Bigfoot can't swim so we were safe on the boat or that UFO's move to fast to see us, only worry if one stops, is that one slowing down ? The kids would arm themselves with their Daisy bb guns waiting for Bigfoot or an UFO.

On one of the shows Art had an open line for the anti christ. The anti christ called in and predicted the 2006 - 2008 recession. Very entertaining stuff while having a beer under the stars in the middle of a wilderness lake. I kind of miss it.

I am sorry to hear this. He was very entertaining even though there was a topic or two I had a hard time swallowing...

Art Bell was a real favorite of mine. He dealt with lots of stuff that was entertaining and interesting, if sometimes hard to take seriously. Since he retired and was replaced by George Noori, I have not cared for the program.

Lots of Art's old broadcasts are available for streaming online via a number of sources, among them:
Streams on Tune-In app that carry Art Bell
I still enjoy listening to them.

Thanks for the link. I have it on right now.

For me, the best topics were Bigfoot. I haven't seen or heard a Bigfoot yet but know credible people that have at least heard Bigfoot. One of my friends was a BLM Ranger and another was US Forest Service Law Enforcement in Washington State. Through out their careers they interviewed and investigated Bigfoot sightings. Neither actually has seen one but the USFS guy has actually heard something that spooked him. Personally, I really doubt there is a Bigfoot. My and my friends trail cams never capture anything that cool. With all of the game cameras in the wild I think there would be a credible picture by now. Even so, it is a fun topic for me anyway.

I seems that Art Bell came back with a message on the Ouiga Board this August.
