I have 30 points for exchage to use by 12/31/2019 in RCI. We would like to go to Spain and do a transatlantic back to the states from Barcelona in Oct. or Nov 2019. We would like to be able to spend a week before that cruise in the Barcelona area. It seems Malaga or Allicante are a bit too far from Barcelona. I am getting up in years and my driving skills would be tested on the roads I think. Any suggested timeshare exchanges to that area in the timeframe I posted would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Jim, we did such a trip several years ago. Turns out RCI exchanges in big European cities are scarce. And are not the luxurious digs we are used to in U.S. and Mexico. So we exchanged into Somni de Cambrils (Google it) it's about an hour by train from Barca. You can easily walk from the station to the 'resort'-it really just an apartment complex. Clean and the staff is helpful. There are 1st Century Roman ruins to examine, and good (3 Michelin stars) restaurants along the beachfront promenade. We went by bus to Montserrat and other attractions. You would want to be capable of 5-6 blocks walking to enjoy the area and get groceries, etc. When we checked in the desk told me there was a comp bottle of wine and if we wanted more, it was 1€!

Another option we have used is a hotel in Barca, either near the main train station or the cruise terminal. I have heard of a TS near Las Ramblas, but never turned it up.

Thank you for your reply. Considering all our options we decided on a cruise to Greek islands instead. We agree that RCI offers VERY

LITTLE OPPORTUNITY IN EUROPE. We will NOT BE renewing our RCI when expiration comes up.

It is not a RCI problem. The issue is that there are very few timeshare in European cities.

OK that may be true. It does seem that II and other companies do offer much more availability in Europe than RCI.
