Planning on visiting Playa Del Carmen. Where is closest airport to fly to? I looked up Southwest and no direct flights to PDC.

Check Cozumel as well. You have to take a ferry, but it's not long at all.

We were just through there yesterday on an ADO bus on our way from Belize to the Cancun airport!

As previously mentioned, get a flight into Cancun (CUN). A common and fairly inexpensive way to then get to Playa del Carmen (even with luggage) is by ADO bus lines. They use nice airconditioned, newer coach buses with large luggage bays and make very frequent trips between CUN and PDC. The trip should cost about 208 Pesos. There is a website (https://www.ado.com.mx/#/ ) but it is in Spanish and you can not buy any tickets online outside of Mexico, but you can see the schedule. ADO has a kiosk in each of the terminals, as well as one out in the bus area of one, at CUN so you can just walk up to one and buy your tickets there. They take most major credit cards.

Your other option is to book a transfer service for the 35 mile trip. Sorry I don't know of any but I'm sure Google does.

Brant Boston runs it and has transfer services as well as meal deals and triips. Great outfit to deal with. Definitely more expensive that the bus tho.

We’ve used USA Transfers with great success. Very polite drivers and clean vehicles.
