Well, I'm not sure it's exactly a bucket list item, but here we are. Today. In San Francisco. DWs youngest manages IT for this 'organization'. So we got invited. Yes, it's a year round enterprise, not just a bunch of hippies hanging out in the desert. Check it out here: https://burningman.org/events/san-francisco-decompression-2019-black-top-city/ I'll try to post some pictures of I can figure out how. Otherwise, we'll see you all after.

Shucks. We lived to tell the tale, but I'm unable to put the pictures I took up here. There were dozens of bands playing- all with pounding bass. There were maybe a dozen 'art cars' they call 'mutant vehicles'. The only rule is they must move under their own power. We were well North of the age curve. DW said we were older than 98% of the attendees. I said we were older than most of the attendees grandparents. But still, we were welcomed warmly by every person we took the time to greet.
Yes, there was total nudity. Not a LOT, but it was evident. But, hey, it's San Francisco! What'd'ya expect?I
Do it again? Sure! It was fun. Food trucks galore. Art. Security. Lots of free activities. Plenty of bars. So think of a Discovery Museum for adults to expand their horizons and throw in some loud music and alcohol.
I still haven't given up on the pictures, so stay tuned.

I am definitely confused. Was only aware of Burning Man's Annual event, held earlier this year. Where was the one you attended?

The big Burning Man event is held on a dry lake bed in Nevada once a year in August. The event we attended yesterday was the first follow up even, called 'Decompression'. It was held near a now defunct power plant on San Francisco Bay. It will be somewhere else next year because this site is being 'gentrified' into apartment blocks etc.

This year admission to this event was $38. DWs son works for the foundation, he comp'd our entry. Admission to the Black Rock desert event ranges from $425 to about $1150 for the 3 week event. This only gets you in. You have to provide your own shelter, food, drink and whatever else you require. We were told that 90,000 people were at 'Black Rock City' this year.

Here are a couple of the Mutant Vehicles that were on display. At the desert event there were over 400 and they roamed the 'Playa'. You can get aboard and ride.

Here's a couple more from the Oakland Museum's exhibit on Burning Man. Lots on the history. The one of the scantily clad ladies was characteristic of how many of the 'Burners' dressed at the Decompression', and another Art Car, one of the Mutant Vehicles. Pedal powered by 4 occupants and all constructed of baking pans.

I have a few more, but mostly art. Nothing riske'.
