I have a Sea Gardens reservation dec 30 - Jan 6. I need to add the 7th , the system won't allow me to add just one night. I called in and the guy said I can add the one night 14 days in but I highly doubt it will still be there in 2 months. If I cancel my reservation , How long before it reappears ? What is the likelihood of it being back available? I know I read that cancellations disappear and get scooped by extra vacations etc.

Thanks in advance

I cant guess whether or not a cancellation will ever come back, much less guess the odds that it might

the 6th and 7th is available in a studio... Id reserve that now as a back up and hope the 7th is still there when you can make the single night reservation

Thanks Ron, So book the 6th - 7th now and cancel it if there's another one available 14 days out ? But then wouldn't I lose my points for the 6-7 reservation ?

What he is likely saying is book the 6th - 7th a second name may be needed on the reservation to prevent overlapping reservations problems then book the 7th if it becomes available then cancel the 6th and 7th while you can get the points back, that would be before the 14th day.

I didnt consider losing the points.. but losing the points is a small price to pay, if the alternative is sleeping on the beach that last night.

Rooms will come back between now and then. What room size did you book? Is that the smallest at the resort? There are other resorts in the area as well if you do not mind moving.

Other then that I have no idea how the cancel/rebook works anymore.

I tried to add a day to a existing reservation today through the call center that is over 14 days out. They recommended cancelling the existing reservation then they would try to get the complete reservation I wanted. I ask if I could loss the existing one if they did that and they said yes. I passed. I would not try cancel and re-book at this point, even though at least some Wyndham Reps continue to recommend it.
