Hi all,

I'm thinking of cancelling my HGVC Club Membership, but I can not find the rules or requirements for doing so. Does anyone know where I can look? I keep going over the Club Rules but it doesn't say anything about it.

Thanks for the help!!

I was wondering if it is possible to cancel the club membership without selling? Or do you have to remain a club member so long as you own an ownership interest at one the properties?

Not that I think it will matter but do you own a fixed week or floating week deed at KL?

KL is a HGVC developed & managed resort. I don't think that your club membership can be cancelled (or not paid) without selling your ownership. In order to reserve, you must either call the club or log into your account. This service is part of your dues. I believe, if you didn't pay your club dues by January 1, your account will be locked (HGVC won't allow any transactions).

But, I know that others have been at this much longer than I. So let see if someone else might have different thoughts.

No, you are right on GT. No easy way out now once you pass the recission period. Sell it, give it away, go in to default by not paying, or pay up to keep using it.

No way to just stop paying club dues and still retain ownership by paying maint fees only.

I agree with the responses that you already have received. However, is the only problem you have with owning at HGVC the membership fee? The maintenance is a much larger annual cost. Do you still want the timeshare and the vacations that go with it? I don't know where you live, however, it must cost you and a traveling companion(s) a few thousand dollars a year or more to travel to and spend a week in Waikoloa. The hundred or so dollars of membership fee which allows you to reserve at Kingsland or any property in the HGVC system for any time of the year is a small cost of vacation compared to the other costs. Please help us understand your problem and perhaps some of us can help you with your ownership.

I suspect that you just want use what you own, and none of the benefits of "the club."
Sorry. No dice, amigo. At a "true" HGVC resort, "your" unit is simply not yours to use.
It is retained in inventory by HGVC. The only way to stay at your resort is via the club.

BTW, if you owned at an affiliate (i.e. Bay Club), HGVC would be membership is voluntary.
You'd have the the right use of your unit per the local rules of the resort, outside of HGVC.

But that does bring up the question, if one buys a Bay Club, converted to HGVC, is there any way to de-convert it. I ask that, as some are set up as seasonal (Platinum/Gold) and some aren't. Does anybody know where the rules and regs for de-conversion are?

If you buy a bay club that has been converted to hgvc, it will be unenrolled in the club when it is deeded to new owner.

I do not know of any non platinum weeks at bay club. All of the weeks i own are deeded platinum floating use 1-51 or 1-52.

I believe i could just call hgvc and have them unenroll the bay club weeks out of the club if i no longer want to convert them to hgvc points. But for me i paid to enroll them so why uneroll them?
