My husband & I fell prey to the nice fast talking sales people at a timeshare resort in Punta Cana Dominican Republic. We signed on 8/12/18. I found out on 8/17, that I had 5 days to rescind the contract. I called the company, immedately, & they said I couldn't cancel. I'm sending them an email today & will follow-up with a certified letter on Mon. that I am cancelling the contract.

The timeshare contract is online, but the company website won't let me set up my account to see the contract.

I found a template on Tugg that I'm using to send to the company. I was lucky to stumble upon this forum! Thanks for your knowledge! Wish I had done more research!

Anyone have advice or suggestions?

Do you have a hard copy of your purchase documents?
What is the name of the timeshare resort and management company?

Timeshares outside the US are not bound by US Law.

Hi Denise,
No, I don't have a hard copy. The website won't let me create an account to log on to view the contract so I can't print it.

The resort is Secrets Cap Cana and the management comp any is AMResorts/Unlimited Vacation Club.

Wonder if it's outside the country one can just walk away and not pay ? Did you put $ down on a credit card or ? , if so that might be lost. Maybe call your credit card company if you used one?
