This article from the New York Times provides a lot of useful information about early recovery assessments by island in the Caribbean affected by Irma and Maria.

No surprise in saying it is going to be a long, hard road to recovery for the entire region, whose economy is centered on tourism.

I think Morritts was open not too long after Hurricane Ivan went through the area. We went to Morrits about a 1 1/2 years after Ivan hit and you could tell that things were not totally rebuilt but certainly up and running.

Morritts reopened Sept 1, 2015 after Ivan came through in Sept 2004. We visited in May 2004 and again in October 2005.

Try Barbados, they were not affected by any hurricanes this year and are open for business.
