Just wanted to provide some real-world feedback to anyone considering buying or selling a Grand Pacific Resorts week:
I offered my Carlsbad Seapointe Resort biennial week in the Bargain Deals forum on Tug on June 30th. I had a firm taker on July 2nd. As Seller, I agreed to pay transfer fees. Advanced Financial, the title arm of Grand Pacific Resorts, agreed to do all the paperwork for $400, which included the $350(?) transfer fee they charge outsiders. I agreed, paid the fees electronically, and mailed my initial paperwork. My Buyer lives in the area, so signed and dropped off their paperwork at the Advanced offices in Carlsbad on July 10th. The clerk was on vacation for two weeks (we knew about that), returning on July 24th. Buyer approved and signed the new deed on August 4th. Paperwork was sent for recording. Title was recorded in the new owner's name on August 14.
So, start to finish, this took 45 days, including two weeks the clerk was on vacation. That's probably the fastest timeshare transfer I've ever had. Advanced was prompt, courteous, kept me in the loop of what was going on, and communicated very well. I would recommend this service to anyone. I hope the new owner enjoys their CSR week!
