Construction at Marriott Desert Springs Villa II

I am thinking about swapping for a villa in January 2019 but I see there is construction ongoing. Has anybody stayed there recently? How instrusive is the construction?

We are going in ten days, if no one responds sooner I will post an update after we are arrive.

For MDS II I believe all Villa renovations are complete but we heard they were starting on the main pool later this year. Over at MDS I they were upgrading the lock off portion to take out the mini fridge and put in a larger fridge, not sure if that is complete.

I was there recently and I don't recall that there was any construction that was of significance. Marriott has a refurb plan where they do different types of refurb on the 5, 10 and 15 year points. So, they are basically doing some construction or refurb on a near continuous basis. Some is quite minor and some more involved. But the place is spread out and they seem to work on one building at a time, so if they are working on a neighboring building it doesn't generally affect any other building. But, I somewhat recall that they might be re-doing some pool decking perhaps at their main (Palmaras) pool. But I may be mistaken. But they have seven pools and I don't think that they redo more than one pool at a time.

If I were you, I'd call DSV2 and ask what is planned for January.

Here is what I heard back from the pre arrivals specialist at the property:
"Thank you for contacting our office. Right now there are only 2 buildings left to be renovated in Villas 1 ( building U & V ) in 2019, possibly in January & February. The exact date has not been established. Palmeras pool will be under major renovation in September 2019"

Thanks - it is interesting that if one goes to the Marriott site for each of these as if to make a paid reservation this dire message appears:

Please note - This resort is in the final phase of a villa refurbishment project that is to be completed February 1st 2019. We will do our best to minimize noise from 8am to 5pm

As you guys recommend I'm going to be best served by calling the resort for specifics before crossing it off my list!
