Family staying at both timeshares with understanding that all can use both facilities with added fee. Grandkids are 7, 5, 3 and 1. Will the swimming pools be sufficient at the timeshares or should we plan on going to a water park and if so which would you recommend. Would also appreciate any activity and restaurant recommendations for the grandkids. Have read Circus World may be fun. Thank you in advance.

It’s the water park capital of the year so I would plan on checking them out. Circus World is worth the trip but the kids have to like clowns and big top type shows. Some kid just don’t get into that.

No one checks anything at Christmas mountain, you can use the pools. Indoor pool fun for little ones, big outdoor one near campground. Some activities. Waterparks won't interest the one year old and some three year olds. Knuckleheads is fun. Also kids will enjoy lil bumpkin at country bumpkin which is between the two resorts. I take my three grandsons everywhere in the Dells all summer in the Dells.

A few restaurants we like in the Dells are:

Paul Bunyan’s - it is touristy but for breakfast it is great, north wood dinning at its best.

Hu Hot - Mongolian BBQ best reasonable for lunch

Famous Dave - Northern style BBQ

Ishnala - 40's Style supper club, a little pricey

Brat House - A bar and restaurant but good Wisconsin brats

Buffalo Phil's - food served on a train, the kids like it

Field's - a fine dining restaurant, great food but you pay for it

One of the most fun, and messy, things to do with the kids is the Dell's Mining Company. There are two locations, one on the strip and one downtown. The one on the strip is open air; downtown is inside, so depending on the weather we go to one over the other. You get a bucket of sand and a screen as mine for gem stones in water troth. You can buy a bucket of sand for about $20 and all of the kid (3-4) can use the same bucket.
