I'm beginning to see reports that you don't receive points until the next use year when you purchase direct from Wyndham in the second half of the year. You do, however, pay MF right from the start though.

Is this new?

I found that out last year. If you buy after July 1, you do not get points until next year. You shouldn’t be charged for those points until next year. Although a former Q&A rep says you do, because you pay maintenance fees in advance. She couldn’t tell me why someone who buys in January, and gets all their points up front, doesn’t pay anything in advance.

You paying maintenance fees in advance is a money grad by Wyndham. Sounds like a bs reason for Wyndham to charge for maintenance fees when no points are available. L
It's like what happens on a use year alignment when points are pushed forward to the next use year. You pay maintenance fees when no points are available for use.

They tried that with me. We didn’t notice it until the next day when the contract was in our account.
I went back stating that if we don’t get the points we’re rescinding, needless to say the points appeared the next day.

Wyndham has a way of changing what they say is policy if they are called out on issue.

Converted fixed weeks are paid during the year prior to use. UDI deeds are paid during the year of use. I don't know how CWA works but I suppose it could be either.
