Hi,

I am in the process of purchasing a week at Marriott Grand Chateau as a trader.

I was wondering what Interval exchanges, locations and size rooms, owners received using studios, 1 bedrooms and 2 bedrooms from Grand Chateau.

I have read examples of owners at Grand Chateau using a 1 bdrm to exchange into a 2 bdrm at Aruba Surf Club during the summer.

Thanks.

Thanks. Did you use your studio to trade into one or two bedrooms?

The short answer...both. You have to pay the upgrade fee with II though. Both Thailand and St Thomas only have 2 bedroom units.

I don't always get or need a 2 bedroom for a studio and have always traded for either a 1 bedroom or a 2 bedroom. Occasionally there are only 2 bedroom available.

I usually take what's available on II without a request or ongoing search.

We own A 2 bedroom at Grand Chateau. We always lock off. We have been very successful in trading in II. The studio does not always pull what you see with a 1 bedroom, maybe 75% of time. Key is your schedule. Are you tied to the school schedule, then trades more problematic. Travel in shoulder or off season and if you have flexible travel dates, then go for it. When always use eplus, more $$$$. We have traded into Surf Club 3 times in the last 3 years, all 2 bedroom, 2 trades in early May and 1 trade in early December. Traded into Ko Olina twice, once in November, 1 bedroom and a 3 bedroom in 23 days, Custom House, and a 2 bedroom at Waiohai in February. My wife has been very. She loves the beach.

We have owned an EOY 2 Bed lock off at Grand Chateau for over 10 years now.
A couple of times we have elected for points, but most times we have locked off and exchanged Master and Guest suites MVC - MVC
We have never traded either for less than 2 Bed units in the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.
We don’t travel in peak season though and typically request resorts with no studio or 1 Bed options.

Lately we’ve mostly used our Grand Chateau 3 bedroom for DC points. In the past we have exchanged for: Shadow Ridge Enclaves, Desert Springs Villas II, Custom House, Waiohai, Grand Lodge on Peak 7, Grand Colorado, and Willow Ridge Lodge.
