First, thanks to everyone who helped me make the decision to take over my MiL's Wyndham timeshare. :) You guys are amazingly generous with your knowledge, and I'm so grateful.

My RCI membership finally showed up on my new Wyndham (pts) ownership transfer. I have 308K WYN pts that expire 12/31/19 and I plan *at some point before then* to deposit all into RCI. I'm not clear on the smart way to do that, though.

The goal: I want to book SSR 1-bdrm and have super flexible travel dates, as early as Sept 27 and late as Mar 21. I know lots of those dates have already come and gone. When something comes available, I want to be able to jump on it. I follow the appropriate threads on this site and will be checking RCI multiple times/day to keep on top of it.

The question: Is there a downside to transferring 105K before I see an available date at SSR 1Bdrm? A downside to transferring all 308K points at once? It looks like that could get me in trouble with insufficient housekeeping credits??? What do I need to be cautious of/aware of???So much to learn!

The only downside to transferring all 308k points at once is that they're good for 2 years in RCI, so their expiration date will be a few months sooner than if you waited until late December. The only downside to depositing 105k now and depositing the rest later in December would be using two reservation transactions instead of one (so, at most a $19 cost if you needed to buy one). Assuming that the 308k points still have all the housekeeping credits they started with (I'm making an assumption that this is the full UY's allotment of points, in which case you'd have all the HK credits as well), then you won't run into a housekeeping credit problem no matter how you do it.

We do have full housekeeping credits! I didn't realize the two years was 24 months and not, by end of second use year. Makes sense, but I didn't realize it so thx!

Well, I got the first week in February all set up and paid for! :cheer:
We usually stay in studios at SSR, so this will be super fancy for us. Thanks again for all the help getting this figured out. Some of your names are really familiar from reading the entire Sightings threads from the last two years, lol.
