Hey! New to TUG and the idea of owning a TS and I have a maybe obvious question to some, but not so much to me. We are looking to purchase at the WKORV and in looking at the StarOptions Value Charts, there are different color weeks. Platinum Plus, Platinum, Gold Plus, Gold, and Silver. In purchasing a 2bdrm we'll be getting 148,100 SOs...do I need to make sure we are buying a certain color week in order to book a SO reservation at another SVN property?

Thanks!

And everything at WKORV/N has much higher MF's than most SVN resorts.

You can probably rent the WKORV unit and get more for your money than by using SO reservations.

Thanks! Does that mean I can book anywhere, anytime or am I only allowed to book PP blocks? (1-21, 50-52)

You can book exactly what you own "Home Reservation" beginning at the 12 month mark all the way upto the 8 month mark(if available). At 8months out you can use star options to book any available resort in the network. Of course as taterhed said, if you own in something with a high maintenance fee then almost all Staroption (like for like) reservations will be a big downgrade, so you would be better off renting your unit for $$

https://tugbbs.com/forums/index.php...-to-timesharing-or-starwood-start-here.63224/Hey, just a quick note for the OP and others reading this.......
Lot's of amazing info available on TUG and from Tuggers.
But, it's not always necessary to ask every question to get answers (maybe you already know this....)

There is a great deal of information available here: Starwood FAQ - if you are new to Timesharing or Starwood, start here!

The short answer to your question is this: During SO reservation period, you can book anything you can see (on your Vistana dashboard) so long as you have sufficient SO's for the booking. This includes inventory at the mandatory resorts. You can also complete an external exchange via Interval. Exchanges or trades to lesser resorts will not be financially sound (due to MF's) vs rent for $$$.

Thanks taterhed! I've actually read quite a bit and it's intense and a bit overwhelming. But just like everything else, I'm sure it'll start to all click.
