Florida Club fee? When did it get to $48.89?

Paying my fee at OP now. When did it creep up to $48.89 ?

I am sure there was a lot of blathering about this here on TUG. Must have missed it since I am not a regular visitor any more (Too many other life commitments).

I must say that the $49 is worth every nickel if you do use the Florida Club, but worth absolutely nothing if you don't.

Most folks don't use the Florida Club so I know it's always a bone of contention.

I use it on occasions and really enjoy the ease of use for instant trade results.

What is the advantage of having Florida Club over using II or using points. I just bought an Ocean Pointe week from Marriott a few months ago and I really wanted out of that fee and I couldn’t. Even my salesperson could not really explain its purpose.

I thought the Florida Club fee is actually far less than the amount attributed to it in the Budget Reports, because it's a combination of an administration fee that every Weeks owner at every resort is charged plus the small amount that's dedicated only to FC administration? Am I remembering this correctly?
