Frontier Airlines Adds 4 New Cities in 35-Route Expansion
By Ben Mutzabaugh/ USA Today/ Travel/ usatoday.com
"Frontier Airlines is adding four new cities to its route map, part of a broader 35-route (mostly seasonal) expansion announced by the airline this week.
The four cities getting new Frontier service are Birmingham, Ala.; Branson, Mo.; Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and Savannah, Ga. Service from those airports will be phased in between April 11 and June 13. Frontier previously served Branson in 2014, but the three other destinations are new to the carrier’s network.
It all comes as Frontier announced nearly three-dozen non-stop routes that will dramatically grow its presence in several markets.
But the expansion has caveats. All but two of the new routes are seasonal and most have just two or three flights a week. (Scroll down for a full list) Frontier also is discontinuing several other routes that had tepid demand; the airline is known for quickly abandoning routes that do not meet expectations...."
