I got a call and invited for a 3 Night stay a resort, several options. Choose NY and they were going to put me up at the Pulse, I told them Im a Gold member with Marriott and that I really cant commit right now as I have a Tax Bill to pay this week. They delayed and said they would call be back in 1 month or I can call them. Offered to upgrade my free ($499) stay to the Lexington.

I read a 10 article series on the Wyndham points system, and have been considering buying those points on ebay. Is there a similar article or write up on Marriott? What should I expect, how do I get the best deal.

Marriott Weeks and DC Points
I would start by reading the sticky posts at the top of the Marriott Forum explaining how both the weeks and points programs work, and then begin asking questions (and/or doing a keyword search using the box in the upper right hand corner below your user name). Good luck.
