Harborside
Frenchman’s Cove
As usual just speculation--I am an owner of two weeks at Harborside so will be interesting to see how this all works out...............two week lockoff week 1 and week 52 one bedroom--so wonder if all our points will be merged for use? In any case I don't plan to buy anymore and hope to use my Marriott to go to coast of Spain next year.
- MVCI has officially announced as of last week, it will acquire ILG (interval International) This is a 4.7 billion dollar acquisition that will bring all the Hyatts, Sheratons, Westins and St. Regis Residences together under our flagship. MVCI will not roll out any specifics until the deal Is finalized (approx. November of 2018) but this is huge for our ownership from a flexibility perspective, a booking perspective, and an inventory perspective. I have hinted for years that the points product was designed to create a compatible system to acquire ILG and 8 years later it finally happened. Combining the collections listed above with the Ritz Residences, the Marriott Vacation Clubs, and the Pulse collections is tremendous!
- The Marriott Visa card now offers 2 pts. per $ on miscellaneous purchases, as well as 6 pts. per $ on Marriott purchases (not counting bonuses for status levels). The cost is now $95 per year, which is a $10 increase from the standard $85. For this reason, this change does not take effect automatically. You have to call the Chase Rewards Customer Service line on the back of your card at 1-800-338-5360. The process took me under a minute. Do it! It’s free travel benefits.
- When they finalize the Status levels of the Hotel Rewards Program for Starwood and Marriott which is scheduled for August, anyone with lifetime Gold will be automatically upgraded to Lifetime Platinum Elite, and anyone with Lifetime Platinum Elite, will be upgraded to Lifetime Premier Platinum.
