I'm going to Grand Chateau this week. Anyone have recent history on MR amounts offered to attend the "update"? Wondering how much I should expect (if any, not sure if I've been blacklisted).

I'm only interested in MR since I'm planning to take a MR Max travel package (hotel + miles).

I think if you own at a Marriott, they offer 30K MRPs, but if you don't, their offer is 10K to 15K. Sometimes they do not offer anything or to the sales presentation if they don't believe that the guests will buy and they don't want to waste their time.

We were there in mid February. we were offered 30,000 MR points if we signed up before arrival so we signed up ahead and did get the points after our presentation. They generally state they lower the incentive if you wait to sign up when you arrive. we have experienced that is true at Grand Chateau and other marriotts.

I found by my experience that the "offer" is very personalized to the attendee. I have been offered upwards of $300 dollars in Marriott gift cards at one time after purchasing Oceana Palms from the developer. I think they considered me very 'ripe' for another developer purchase. The offer declined in value quite substantially year after year of not purchasing additional weeks/points. Once the offers got below $200 my wife wasn't interested in wasting a good part of a day on their pitch. Nowadays we don't even talk to the concierge to avoid it altogether....

Thanks for the replies! My wife asked me today why is Marriott leaving voicemails on her phone :) Answer: I missed their emails they were sending me to attend a presentation - guess I am not on the blacklist.. offer is 15K points which seems too low and I *must* :) call them before I arrive.
