I just booked a week in August 2008 in the new Grand Mayan Los Cabos.

    The confirmation has this:
MAYAN OWNERS/MEMBERS TRAVELING TO MAYAN MUST DEPOSIT A WEEK FOR EXCHANGE. EXTRA VACATIONS TO MAYAN RESORT NOT ALLOWED AND WILL BE CANCELLED. QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL 8777241001. TWO UNITS MAX EITHER CONSECUTIVELY OR CONCURRENTLY , GUEST CERTIFICATE REQUIRED IF A GUEST IS TRAVELING OF IF MEMBER IS NOT TRAVELING ON BOTH UNITS.1/5 YEAR RULE IS STRICTLY ENFORCED AS A GROUP RULE NOT INDIVIDUAL RESORTS FOR ALL RCI MEMBERS INCLUDING MAYAN OWNERS. NO EXCEPTIONS TO THESE RULESVIOLATIONS WILL BE CANCELLED**CLOSED DATE CONFS LESS THAN 48HRS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED BY RESORT. **CLOSE DATE CONFS WITH LESS THAN 48RS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED*EFFECT.JULY 1,1999 A NEW VISITOR ENTRY FEE OF US$15 PP WILL BE APPLIED IN THE FORM OF A TOURIST CARD. ALL MEMBERS STAYING AT RESORT IN STATE OF BAJA CALIFORNIA WILL HAVE TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL 2% STATE/LODGING TAX.

Please interpret the sentence "TWO UNITS MAX EITHER CONSECUTIVELY OR CONCURRENTLY".

Can I book and add a back to back week to my current booking, without violating the rule?

Ok. Can I do two exchanges and do two back to back weeks?

I'd read it to mean you can use two units - either two units during the same week, or one unit for two weeks in a row. Obviously, a second deposit would be necessary to get the second unit or week. And that means two exchange fees, etc.

I'd recommend calling the number they show and ask them, to be completely clear. Since this is a brand new resort, they may have special rules.
