Too bad these prices weren't extended to next spring. My daughter is getting married on Maui and the tickets from the west coast are over $1000. I have never seen the prices this high, but then again we usually travel to the islands in January.

I've never paid $500 (or over) to fly to HI from the west coast. Not a deal in my book.

Prices aren't too bad if you want to travel in late August or September.
I just booked tickets for mid July ("last minute" cruise with local family) Seattle to Honolulu and it was around $660,
and that was returning on a Monday! The going to Hawaii is not as expensive as returning from Hawaii o_O
The airfare was about the same as the cruise fare!

btw, the Secret Flying newsletter (mentioned in the Vacation forum a while back) a few days ago listed a summer sale
from Seattle or Portland to Maui, Kauai, Big Island, in July, on United; example fare RT $362. But not to Honolulu :(
I;ve never booked thru them, looks like pretty set durations for these "sales". YMMV
