I'm wondering how the free golf works if staying there on DC points for less than 7 days, say 1 or 2 nights?

I seem to remember that when we stayed there for 4 nights on points, we got 6 rounds of golf. That was a few years ago so I don't know if it has changed or not.

I called the resort for you, Dean.

I spoke with Miles, the Director of Guest Relations there, and he is an authoritative
source for all things GOLF at Heritage.
If needed, he's there now @ (843) 363-3012.

He stated that if using DC Points, one week's stay gets 10 rounds of free golf,
and at least 3 nights gets 4 free rounds.

Less than 3 nights does not qualify for any free golf at all.

"Free golf privileges" at Heritage include both Green fees and Cart = totally free.

Golf Courses = Shipyard, Port Royal, Oyster Reef.

Thanks Marty, that's helpful. I do appreciate you doing that. I'm just digging out from our Aruba trip as we got home about MN Monday night. Starting to plan this year GO trip and starting the planning for next years GO proceeded by a week in Charleston at the Bluegreen resort as a couples only portion.

Are there any other HHI MVCI resorts that offer/include golf as part of staying under either the DC or legacy weeks programs? Can't find much online that isn't really dated.

I know Grande Ocean had a package included with purchase early on but it was a yearly paid thing IIRC. I haven't heard of it in quite some time, I don't know if an owner could have kept it going or not. They sometimes have specials with the same company that Heritage contracts with but there are options you can access directly including package discounts and short notice discounts. IIRC Manor Club in Williamsburg used to provide golf, I don't know if they still do. This is paid for by the membership so it tends to increase dues quite a bit.

I believe Heritage Club and Manor Club are the only timeshares with golf included in the annual maintenance fees. The free rounds at Manor Club are at the adjacent Fords Colony and runs until 2030 if I remember correctly. A 7 day reservation gets 6 rounds that can be used two per day and does not include the cart which is mandatory. At the Sequal they divide the rounds to 4 and 2 for 1bdr and efficiency respectively. I don’t know about shorter stays. I think that it’s also limited to MVC owners using points or a MVC trader through II.

It gets confusing because the Heritage Club and Manor Club resorts have actual free golf programs (that owners subsidize with their MF's) while at the same time, the discount golf options at all the South Carolina and Florida - and Virginia? - resorts is through a program called Heritage Golf. If your stay is eligible the advance email and the Welcome Packet will include info and contact information. (I know I've seen a website recently but can't find it now, will try to remember to link it here when I see it again.)

At one time Heritage Club included free golf at the Sea Pines courses. Still true or not?

I was there in December.

The Free Golf can be played at the Port Royal Courses, or Shipyard (27 holes), or Oyster Reef.

The greens at Shipyard were the best of those courses at that time.

There used to be two free rounds at Harbortown and unlimited play at Ocean and Marsh.
That ended about 10 years ago.

Update from the latest Barony Beach Club newsletter:

>>Old South Golf Program Terminated
In 1999, Marriott Vacation Club contracted with Old Carolina and Old South Golf Club to provide tee times and discounted golf rates for Owners. This contract ended on December 31, 2018 and Marriott Vacation Club did not renew the contract. Although this program ended, Marriott Vacation Club is working with many golf courses on Hilton Head Island and the Bluffton area to continue to provide discounted rates for Owners and guests. Please check with the Front Desk for current offers.

Golf Central
Are you aware Golf Central offers discounted rates at several area courses? If you are thinking of playing golf while on vacation, please contact Golf Central at 843-686-7105. The team will be happy to answer questions or arrange tee times for you. Discounted rates are also available with the Heritage Golf Group which includes each of the courses at Port Royal Golf Club, Oyster Reef Golf Club and Shipyard Golf Club. Remember to contact Golf Central when planning your vacation and your golfing options.<<

Note again that the free golf program at Heritage Club is unique to that resort and subsidized through Heritage Club owners' MF's (so not affected by this change,) while the now-terminated Old South discount program was available at all HHI resorts.

Since I don't know much about Marriott, what locations would [FREE GOLF] be applicable to? Heritage Club as mentioned in this thread, but is there any other location that free golf would apply to?

Manor Club in Williamsburg, VA. I don't remember hearing of it at any others.
