I wasn't able to find anything on this, so apologies if this has been posted before.

I will be on a trip next year during a 276-day booking window and it will be more convenient not to have a computer, so to use the app. As an experiment, I looked at booking a Studio Premier at W. 57th for dates for which I know availability exists. A couple of wrong things happened:

1. While the website would let me book with more 2020 points than I had by mentioning that I had to bank available 2019 points (which I have not yet done), the app simply said that I had exceeded points and did not even mention that.

2. Even for a shorter booking, the app would not show the Studio Premier as an option (even though it is available). It showed only the basic Studio Plus and the 1BR (which, by the way, is the same number of points as the Studio Premier, so it's not an amount of points thing). Basically, the app appears not to know that this room type exists.

Gonna call tomorrow about this, but wondering if anyone else has come across this with W. 57th, any other bHC, or even any HGVC.

Cheers.

The app is a hot mess. The other night I tried to book 3 nights at SeaWorld on the app. I knew the availability was there. The app tried to charge me a $237 fee on top of the points. I had to get up, go down to the computer and book it on the computer to avoid the fee. I don't trust the app.

I hear ya. I just looked at the details of my schedule and it seems I'll be in London in-transit to Prague at booking time, with a long enough layover to do this in one of the lounges in T3. Would be nice to have the app working, but not a killer. Will still call.

Cheers.

Just delete the app and use your mobile browser, the web site is mobile friendly.

Yes, that's what I do when I need to work from my phone. Much better than trying anything important on the app.

I did look at that as well, but found it fairly cumbersome. Then again, I was comparing to the actual website which is very easy and intuitive to use. As a mobile, it's likely not bad, though. It did seem to be more accurate than the app :)

The app still has uses for looking at dashboard and upcoming reservations. Those are accurate and login and navigation are very easy with touch. Just seems that booking is sadly deficient.

Cheers.

False alarm. This one's on me.

HGVC suppot have been helpful on this, and I sent them screenshots of the "problem." I got an email asking if the other sub-types show up under the main type after selecting. I was gonna say "no" as I had checked previously and the screen showed only the one type. But I tried one more time. Just the one type, fully filling the screen. But, you know, what if I scroll (apparently these devices allow that). Well, guess what, there were the rest.

So, yeah, maybe a little misleading at first, but it all seems to work properly. And maybe segmenting the data in this way actually makes sense from a screen real-estate viewpoint.

Carry on about your business. Nothing to see here.

Cheers.
