Hi, I’m new to this group and hoping someone can help us. We bought the points from a meeting at Holiday inn Orange lake resort in Orlando. We started at 150k points at use biannually. Unfortunately job circumstances have changed for us and we are not able to use them as we hoped. We have used some points but had an ‘interesting’ experience that I wouldn’t want to experience again. Also in the first year i didn't know that I needed to transfer our points to IHG, so we lost out on uk trips. As we are based in the UK it poses an issue with payments or does it if I stop paying them ?
I’ve read posts that say you can sell or give back once paid but we’ve only been paying for 2 years so are no where near paid In full. I’m happy to lose what I’ve paid and put the experience down to something I’m not sure how to explain-an impetuous mistake and decision.
So how can I get rid of it ? I don’t wish to pay my monthly mortgage or yearly fees anymore. There must be a way out ...
Any advice gratefully received.

I would call HICV and see if they will release you due to hardship. If they say no then your choices are to continue to pay or to stop paying. As you live in the UK, it is unlikely to effect you. If you need credit in the US it can effect that for the next several years. If you are not offered a release in 6 months or so, you might want to contact them again telling them you have no intention of paying any more money and if they want their deed back in lieu of foreclosure you are willing to do that.

Thank you, I will try this route.

I called Holiday Inn earlier and was put through to Horizons who then said I could sell or gift the points, this isn’t something I’d consider. After some more discussion they put me through to capital management. So basically they’ve stopped my mortgage payments and any letters requesting payment I should ignore which will eventually lead to a foreclosure. I’m a uk resident so having poor credit history I the USA is not a worry for me.
