Holiday Inn Club Vacation - Points Question

Questions for everyone....

Looking to Buy some time share for first time. From what I am reading in all these threads, points is the best way to go because of flexibility vs. weeks.

I've been talking to someone about buying their time share. It is 2 contracts through Holiday Inn South Beach, SC and 1 contract through Lake Geneva, WI. The total amount of points for these three contracts through Holiday Inn Vacation Club (HIVC) would be 386,000 points per year. Deeded. To purchase this it would cost me $18,000 which would include all closing costs etc.

Trying to figure out if this is a good deal? It appears I could the 386,000 points at any of the 26 HIVC resorts or buy into RCI and exchange some points with them.

Just looking for advice before I make any purchases. Thank you everyone for your help.

$18k for 386k point is high in my option. For reference, I recently paid $2050 for 150k points on Ebay for South Beach. In the past I have purchased smaller points units for significantly less money.

You are correct that you can use these resale points at any of the 26 hicv resorts or rci. The third resort that resales transfer to the new owner other the two you have already listed is the Smoky Mountain resort in Gaitlinburg.

I agree...That seems very high. Bigmac is pretty good on price...Resale that amount of points should cost you about 5- 6 grand

Holiday Inn Vacation Club points can also be transferred into IHG for hotel stays. You were wise to pass on the deal. If you join TUG you can check resale’s on Marketplace, much lower prices
