Stop at the St. George Costco in Washington, Utah, (the town right before Hurricane), on the way to Springdale. You’ll have the best options there.

There won't be any alcoholic bev's (except maybe 3.2ABV beer) at Costco in Utah. The state hates competition.

Have been to fifteen+ states. Favorite? Can't decide between Hawaii and the three states (WY/ID/MT) of the Yellowstone area.

Ask me again when I'm trapped in a blizzard and I'm sure my answer will be more precise.

So I've heard! Southern Utah -- Escalante region, Bryce, Arches, Canyonlands, etc. Family obligations are preventing an extended vacation right now, so I'm thinking fall 2020 might work. If you have suggestions, I would appreciate your input.

We spent several days in and around St. George and thoroughly enjoyed Zion National Park. Wonderful views, a variety of hikes, a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable vacation even though it was in July (hot, but NOT humid to us). We did NOT get to any other national parks on this trip and we are going back to Utah this summer but in the northern part of the state. I am looking forward to the seeing the other end of the state.

I think I've visited 26 states. I dearly love New England. Such variety within a short drive. In my own home state, we've got the mountains, lakes, and the coastline. Hard to beat that!

We enjoyed Virginia's mountains last summer, but I don't think I'd want to live there. I think Vermont is my favorite state outside of home, and New Hampshire would be a close second. But I've found something to enjoy about every single place I've been. Timesharing has opened up so many interesting locales, and we've really not ventured far from the Northeast! (Yes, Theo...I'm still the eternal optimist...I can find good in just about any spot we go!)

Northern Utah is very different from Southern Utah. Equally pretty, but in a very different way. :)

33 for me, though many of the ones on the west were while I was on a family trip at the age of 9. I have been to all east of the Mississippi except for Vermont. On both our trips to New England, we have missed Vermont both times. Florida is perhaps my most favorite though I love Hawaii too. Just like Florida more since it is easier to get to and cheaper too.

Nope. But you can join, shop, and after you get home, if you aren't getting your value for the membership, you can cancel and get a full refund of your membership fee. The membership is good for a year, so if you travel anywhere else, you might use it then. But if not, cancel, and get your membership money back. Nothing to lose.

Thanks. Yeah- there is no Costco here so we use Sams Club.

Not sure what kinds of suggestions you are looking for, but if it's timing I think that fall is awesome. We went the first week of Nov 2016 and did Zion, Bryce, a brief stop in Kodachrome State Park, and Capitol Reef. It was warm enough to do the Narrows in Zion, and that was awesome. Driving between the parks was easy. The only bad part of the trip was lack of good beer - Utah as an abv limit and it makes all of the beer taste a bit watered down. (Lolol, the things one remembers). Go for it.

Yes! Thank you for sharing your thoughts about timing. I want to avoid summer crowds and wasn't sure how late in the fall is doable. I'll also keep your itinerary in mind. I have no idea right now how far apart anything is, so that is helpful. Thanks again!
