I am surprised it's not 20 bedrooms, it's so massive. I suppose we won't know who bought it.

I offered $46 million but I just couldn’t see paying $46.1 million so I passed and bought my condo on Molokai. :)

For that much money I'd want to be able to walk onto the beach in front of my house!

When my sister was in the hospital recently, I mentioned that my 3 siblings and I should buy a large house in Hawaii, hire a medical staff, and use it for our long term care needs. She mentioned this plan to the medical staff in her hospital, and immediately got 4 volunteers. This house would have fit our needs perfectly, and is large enough to house all the medical equipment we'd need. I guess I'll have to keep looking. Oh, and I'll have to find $46M to pay for a house.

There are steps down to the beach. What a pain to haul your surfboard back up that hill, though!

Well, the previous owners (who built the house) were Morgan Stanley hotshot William H. Strong and his wife Sandi. Down the road, Mark and Priscilla Zuckerburg are developing their $100+ million dollar oceanfront estate (700 acres in two parcels) just west of Larsen's Beach.
