On II, I made a trade online this Sunday morning (June 23) that I want to cancel within the allowed 24 hr period. However, I saw no way of cancelling online. Since II phones are now closed on Sunday, it appears that the first opportunity to cancel will be tomorrow (Monday June 24) at 9 a.m. EDT when the II offices open in Florida. Fortunately I made the exchange at 10 a.m. Sunday so I will have an hour to call. If I had made the reservation earlier than 9 a.m. EDT Sunday, it looks like I would be out of luck in cancelling within the 24 hour period. Am I missing something? Seems like a major disadvantage to II customers to close the phone lines on Sunday without also providing an online method of cancelling.

My guess is they would let you cancel but being not sure I would email them with the information, from their website. I would take an image of the email and time and then follow up with a phone call when they are open.

I was told to do a "reply" from the email confirmation you get when you book or when you are auto matched from an ogs. It will have a time date and you need to reply within 24 hrs saying you wish to cancel. Not the pdf one that sometimes comes later but the "Congratulation" one.

Thanks. I will go the "belt and suspenders" route and send a reply email and also call tomorrow morning before 10 a.m. Thanks for the help.

I think that the Interval Community Forum is messed up right now. I saw a person with the name "Ruthrj" post a very similar inquiry on the ii Exchange Forum a few minutes ago. They were asking how do you cancel when the office is closed.

I tried to reply but it wouldn't let me. The area where a person normally responds stays blank. The only fields that work consistently are the title block and the signature line. I noticed this problem on specific posts mid week. But now it seems that all or nearly all posts cannot accept a response.

I tried to start a new post on ii asking if others were having the problem. It allowed me to fill in the title but I could not add any text below.

I'm wondering if this is a platform specific problem (I'm using Windows 7 and 10 and Google Chrome) ? Are others also having problems?

Click on the link to Customer Support in the bottom right hand corner of your II screen.
Then "Email Us". The form is pre-filled with your name and member number. Fill out the rest of the fields, then select Exchange > Cancellation.

And, if you have further problems, there is a special Interval Intl. email for Tuggers as well.

I've never had an issue as long as it is within a reasonable period (weekends, holidays etc...).

I have read reports by some people that they got an exchange match with Interval but did not receive an email confirmation. I would like to report that this happened to me - - again - - this morning (Sunday at noon). But, knowing that this has been an outstanding system issue for II, I make a point of checking in My History every morning and that is how I found that one of my pending requests apparently got matched. (The match date is today, Sunday, June 30). Unfortunately, it overlaps a non-cancellable Getaway and I have to cancel the otherwise good exchange match. So I need to cancel the exchange but keep the request open.

So I contacted interval via their email link and received a quick acknowledgment of the email. That was nice.

But then I got an email saying:
"I've notated the exception to the 24 hour courtesy period as our offices
are closed on Sundays. The note includes that I've responded to your
reply advising that you reach out to a Travel Specialist to Decline the
Match, and cancel the Pending Request.

"Please keep in mind, this note also includes that the verification must
be received no later than Monday, July 1, 2019. The time that this
consideration will expire is 11:00 am EST."

Here is where I get some heart burn. I live on the West Coast. So, if I attempt to cancel the exchange I need to start that action a bit before ii's "deadline" - - say an hour or more. That means that I need to be on the phone at 7 am. (10 am EST). Not my favorite time to get up as I am retired. Also, the email reference to 11 am EST confuses me. I know that Phoenix is permanently on standard time, but I don't think that Florida is. I'm still trying to figure out if II is still on EST or E-DST (that is, Standard time or Daylight Savings time). ;)
I replied to the person via email to add a few hours to her deadline. We'll see what happens.
