Now that the II surcharge for trading up has been in place for a while, I'm wondering - Has anyone placed a request to trade a studio or 1 bedroom and been offered a larger unit (with upgrade fee?)?

OK - I see this has been addressed before by Crispee. (see ex below). But I'm still curious how often trading up on a request occurs. Your experience?

From earlier thread:

This is the email I received:

There’s a unit matched to your current Pending Request for The Marriott Barony Beach Club, SC. To be able to consider this unit, please contact Interval International at your earliest convenience today 09/07/17. We must speak with you today to be able to confirm this vacation.

Please DO NOT reply to this email.

Thank you very much.

For 2017 and 2018 traveling I have 8 trades. 6 of them were offered larger units. All offers were through phone calls. I never received an email. They were studio and 1 bedrooms going to 2 and 3 bedrooms. I consider them all strong traders.

I have specifically asked for emails instead of calls and I have confirmed with II that I receive emails and not calls. To date I have never ever received one email except for the auto confirms and I still continue to receive harassing phone calls. Every once in a while I pick up to see if it is an upsize match but once they start the spiel of wanting to review my request and will I take a, b, or c instead of x, y, and z I say no thanks and hang up.

I sure wish I knew how to receive emails such as the one missrumphius posted. I even received a mailer recently asking me to update my phone number because the one they have been calling isn't getting to me.

Ideally it would be great if at the time you make your request you can check off a box that says “eye agree to pay the unit size upgrade fee”

Would save a lot if phone calls that eye don’t answer anyway

The phone calls are awful. I received 3 in one day. Any I ever answered said "we are still working on your exchange wouldn't you like some alternate?". I"m going to try a poll to see if we can get a sense of whether it's necessary to answer the tsunami of call to get an upsize offer.

Panina - the thought occurs - were the upsize units you were offered in the same resort(s) you had originally requested or were they offering upsizes in other resorts?

The upsizes that I accepted were for resorts I requested.
