Once owned these: FirstFairway@Walden X 2; Lawai Beach; ManhattanClub; PuebloBonitoRose; 4 South Africa--now timeshare-free
We'll be ending a cruise at Port Canaveral on May 7. We'd like to visit the Space Center that day.

Any information would be appreciated such as where to rent the car near the port, what to see at the Space Center, and Orlando airport info.

At first we were going to stay near Cocoa Beach, but we decided it made more sense to just rent a car at the port when we get off the ship, drive to the Space Center & spend the day, return the car to the airport that night, and take airport shuttle to a hotel near the airport. We most likely will have an early flight the next day so this would save some time.

We own at the Resort on Cocoa Beach and have visited multiple times. We enjoy the Resort and area, however not a lot of night life. Ron Jons is fun to wander through in Cocoa Beach. The Pier is older and is ok with a nice beach.

Dixie Crossroads is a fun place to eat in Titusville close to Kennedy Space Center. The Space Center has a lot to see and is a full day. Atlantis is impressive!

We loved our visit to the Kennedy Space Center and plan to return. We only had time to visit two sections! There’s a lot to see. We loved the Atlantis shuttle experience as well as the talk given by an astronaut. Definitely recommend both those.

We had a great time visiting Kennedy Space Center. There is plenty to see. Shuttle buses run between the various parts of the place, and it's a good thing: Much too far to walk, and there are alligators in the ditches and side streams. Was kind of a wake-up call for those of us not used to seeing that sort of thing.

One thing we didn't know till we got there is that the main Visitors Center has an IMAX theater. During the day they show NASA space exploration stuff. But in the evening they show commercial Hollywood movies. On the day we were there, they were showing the first new Star Trek movie, (the one with Chris Pine as younger Kirk.) The movie had just come out at the time, and we were planning to see it once we got home. We decided to stay after and see it there instead. It was amazing to see such a visually stunning movie on such a huge screen, on the grounds of the Kennedy Space Center. Made it a very memorable experience. The 50~ mile drive back to Orlando afterwards went pretty quickly.

I don't know if Kennedy Space Center still offers it but we took an extended tour, it may have been called something like "Behind the Scenes". I highly recommend this if it's still available. You get up closer to the launch pad.

It looks like now it is called the KSC Explore Tour.
